The number of primaries has gone down in recent years, in the last ten years (five elections) only 20.7% of potential 250 major party legislative primaries have drawn at least two candidates (so 79.3% unopposed primaries).

 

Voter Turnout

Note that Voting Age Population (VAP) includes some ineligible individuals, so voting eligible population is about 100,000 less than VAP.
